HOW THE MINECRAFT STACK CALCULATOR WORKS

Minecraft storage is based on inventory slots. Most items stack to 64, some stack to 16, and tools, armor pieces, and many other items use one slot each. Use Single Item when every item has the same stack size.

Use Mixed Items when your storage contains different item types. The calculator works out how many slots each group occupies separately, then adds those slots together before calculating chests, barrels, and shulker boxes.

A single chest, barrel, and shulker box each have 27 storage slots. A double chest has 54 slots. Container totals round up because even one partial stack still occupies a full slot.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Can I calculate 64-stack and 16-stack items together?

Yes. Choose Mixed Items, add one row for each item group, select 64, 16, or 1 for each row, and GAMQO will calculate the occupied slots and combined storage requirement.

How many items are in a Minecraft stack?

Most stackable Minecraft items use 64 items per stack, but some use 16 and some items are unstackable. Select the correct stack size for each item group.

How many items fit in a double chest?

A double chest has 54 slots. If every slot contains a full 64-item stack, it stores 3,456 items. A mixed inventory may hold fewer total items because different item types and partial stacks use separate slots.

How many items fit in a shulker box?

A shulker box has 27 slots, so it can hold 1,728 items when every slot contains a full stack of 64. Mixed items are calculated by occupied slots instead.

Why do two partial item stacks use two slots?

Different Minecraft item types cannot share the same inventory slot. For example, a partial stack of stone and a partial stack of Ender Pearls require separate slots, so Mixed Items calculates every group independently before combining the totals.
